  • Promote the use reciprocal links as a means of advertising a site
  • Reward those you properly use reciprocal linking on their site
  • Identify these quality sites for those looking to exchange links

Why create this award?

Exchanging links between web sites is one of the best ways to promote a web site and it costs nothing but some time.

LRSxpress has been using reciprocal links for quite a while with great results. Our standings in the search engines have improved dramatically and our overall traffic has seen impressive increases. As we have built links with other sites, we have found that many sites may use this promotional technique, not all really know how to use it "properly" or most effectively. Throwing together a bunch of unorganized links on a web site, hoping to get more traffic, does not cut it.

There are few, if any, web site awards presently available to recognize those web sites that use reciprocal links effectively. Those who do link exchanging well need to be identified to be examples to other web site and also to help those webmasters looking to exchange links find quality sites to link with.

What is a successful reciprocal links program?

It will have a well established plan or a set criteria on how linking will be implemented. Studies have shown that exchanging links with other sites within one's topic or theme is more important than the amount of links. Link building should be an important aspect of any web site; it should be a resource of the site, not just a side note.

For more detailed information on running a reciprocal linking program, see Linking101.com.
